Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Customer Service Representative- APG System Coordinator, in our Detroit sales facility. Individuals will be responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to: serving as key contact for assigned accounts; entering and ensuring accuracy of orders; resolving customer complaints and processing inquiries; purchasing APG products from authorized foreign factories; liaison between authorized foreign manufacturers’ engineers and customers; processing shipping documentation to forwarders to ensure custom clearance; maintaining customer/internal documentation; conducting visual quality control inspections and other similar duties to ensure domestic and international customer service for APG product market.

Job Duties
- Manage and coordinate inside sales/customer service related responsibilities for assigned accounts. Qualify new opportunities and communicate information to appropriate PM, RSM and local representative.
- Accept, review and process customer purchase orders, order entry, order changes and confirmations. Ensure that customer specific instructions are followed. Verify accuracy of all information entered into BPCS such as bill to, ship to, quantity, pricing and other critical order data.
- Process purchase orders with appropriate factor, each customer PO must have a related PO placed on the factory. Ensure that the item is correctly crossed to a SEI code, buy price is current as well as minimum order quantities and packaging.
- Register all proprietary specifications with the factory.
- Create new APG “MS” number in BPCS system. A correct description, as well as appropriate product code, mark up, unit of measure, packaging and any specific requirements must be entered along with country of origin. Enter cost or buy prince from factory in the “CST” location.
- Process customer requests for quotation. Qualify, review design and current revision, pricing history guidelines and special testing requirements. Resolve all discrepancies and obtain management authorization for quote price when necessary and prepare formal quotation.
- Serve as liaison between Judd, foreign factories and customers regarding order, expedites, samples, quotations, specifications and shipping documents. Work with factories’ engineers to ensure samples, quotations and orders are properly processed.
- Review and distribute all shipping documents to forwarder once received from factory for custom clearance. Communicate any urgent requests for material to forwarder.
- Respond to complaints and inquires such as but limited to: samples, NAFTA certification, IMDS, RoHS compliant, specifications and shipping information such as dates and tracking numbers.
- Log quotations and customer report cards on the appropriate spreadsheet.
- Review RMA requests. Request samples for evaluation as necessary. Process RMA’s and CAR’s in BPCS system; communicate to customer and contact Credit Department for finalization.
- Document and maintain ISO and TS requirements as well as standard practices and policies.
- Maintain the central, open/closed, quote and engineering files.
- Perform visual quality control inspections for incoming finished products packaging. Report visually detected discrepancies to appropriate internal personnel.
- Perform other similar duties as responsibilities necessitate or as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in business or of a technical nature, or 3 to 5 years of practical experience in similar sales functions in lieu of a degree
- Be able to multitask and manage a variety of projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be an individual who is a self-starter, motivated and resourceful;
- Detail orientation and very hands on
- Solid judgment to make decisions within limits of established authority
- Ability to work independently, part of a team and well under pressure
- Able to communicate with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing
- Computer Literate with the ability to produce timely accurate and professional correspondence
- Have a positive attitude and a desire to learn.
